SUKABUMI- In school year 2012/2013 the new building of canteen will be ready to use for receives new students in Al-Kausar. The building which is located in front of girl’s dormitory is already permanent and will be finished in the next three month. The concept of this building is modern-antique design, we can see it from the wall which is made of natural stone and completed with automatic machine to support employees performance. Mr. Nur is the architect of this new building. He changed the new canteen more modern and comfortable for students and also the employees. Management of Al-Kausar will buy automatic machine for washing kitchen tools. The new building that covered an area 648 m2 is equipped with a big kitchen.
Nevertheless, Mbak Luth, as head of canteen has been argued that kitchen in new canteen is smaller than in the old canteen. It will make the performance of employees will be slightly disturbed. However, the new canteen has been a big place for students and it can make the students comfortable when they are eating.
Mr. Taupil, as foreman, helped by 50 employees has been doing for about 50% of this building. This new building is more big and comfortable than the old canteen. The location is more strategic than the old canteen for the girls but it is so far from boy’s dormitory.
“Actually, I really disappointed with this situation because this is not fair for boys. We must go to canteen earlier for breakfast and put our dirty clothes to laundry, so we do not be late. And the girl just have to walk for about 3 minutes to canteen and laundry! It’s not fair” said Syafiq Fawwaz, one of the ten grade student (10/04).
For the future, the old canteen will change to laboratory for supporting students’ learning. And will be restored after construction of new canteen is completed.
